FiBAN and Estban had the privilege to have one of the world's leading angel investing experts Dr. Robert Wiltbank (US) visit Finland and Estonia 3rd - 6th of November 2016. Wiltbank is the leading researcher in the field of angel investing with several top listed publications and he is also responsible for the yearly US angel investment statistics. Wiltbank is an angel himself and specialised in the non-predictive startup strategies; from entrepreneurial expertise in marketing, to formal venture capital investment practices.
The visit was arranged in cooperation with Nordea, Sitra, Tekes FVCA and Hanken. Wiltbank also attended FiBAN’s Business Angel Gala where he handed over the award "Inspiring Business Angel Fund". in Helsinki the 5th of November.

Finnish Business Angels Network (FiBAN)
FiBAN is a Finnish, national, non-profit association of private investors that aims to improve the possibilities for private persons to invest in unlisted potential growth companies. The association’s work is based on the activity by private investors and cooperates with networks supporting high-growth goals.
The FiBAN network is today one of the largest and most active business angel networks in Europe with over over 500 approved members and 100 events annually. FiBAN is a member of the European Business Angels Network (EBAN) and was chosen as the "Business angel network of the year 2012 and 2014".

Estonian Business Angels Network (EstBAN)
Estonia has according to EBAN statistics the highest angel investment rate per GDP. A keyplayer for this activity has been enabled by Estonian Business Angels Network, established in 2012, an umbrella organization for business angels and business angel groups seeking investment opportunities in Estonia and its neighbouring regions with an aim to grow the quantity and quality of local seed stage investments.
EstBAN is a full member of the European Trade Association for Business Angels, Seed Funds, and other Early Stage Market Players (EBAN) and Estonian Venture Capital Association (EstVCA).
