1. Location, location, location
Amsterdam is a perfect spot to shuffle around Europe. You can drive with a car in few hours to other big European capitals or fly from Schipol to any corner of the world. There’s a reason why location matters! Also during our trip, all the locations are in the heart of Amsterdam and startup scene: we are being hosted by an investment bank InsingerGilissen and one the biggest startup hubs in Amsterdam, TQ.
2. Great interest towards co-investing with the New Nordic Angels
The Great Dutch angels have a lot of interest towards co-investing with the New Nordic angels. Cultural mutualities are greater than differences, which makes trust building easier. This is how Robert Weaver, cofounder of MatchingWings, organization which is co-hosting the trip, describes it: “We have a like minded pragmatic, down to earth approach and are jointly committed to provide our best support in helping all stakeholders moving forward. We both appreciate to conduct this in a pleasant, professional, respectful and fun environment.”
3. Brexit bringing startups to Amsterdam
As Brexit creates uncertainty on the future of trading from the UK to other parts of the world for the entrepreneurs, Amsterdam is said to be one of the best options for those unsure startups to relocate. The startup scene is active in the Netherlands, so in either case, we’ll meet with some great innovative entrepreneurs!
4. Meeting effectively with the ecosystem
As your portfolio has matured, it's time to introduce it to the international investors and VCs. During our trip we’ll meet with local angels, VCs, great startups, investing banks, regional development companies, incubators, accelerators… Basically who-is-who list of the Dutch ecosystem will be met in a well planned schedule. Also getting inspirited by seeing how things are done abroad might widen your mindset in angel investing. Just sit back and enjoy.
5. Oh how time flies when you are having fun!
Travelling with fellow investors brings you new network and in the long run, even friends. Once you have spent three inspiring days with like-minded investors, you come back exhausted, but with priceless new connections. What makes these trips legendary: they are just so much fun! Just ask Annukka, Jorma or Mikko, or any other of the 12 already registered angels.
Who? Up to 25 angels from the New Nordics
How much? Travelling and accommodations at your own cost.
