FiBAN angels visited their Dutch counterparts during the traditional angel spring trip in March 2019. There’s been a large interest from the Netherlands towards the Nordics, to both invest in Nordic ventures and to benchmark FiBAN in running a business angels network. The outstanding feature in Dutch market is it’s profound international mindset - they have been merchants in all corners of the world for 400 years, and it still shows in their modern startup ecosystem.
Starting a new job is kind of like the first day of the school year, it’s the time for meeting your new colleagues and making a good first impression. One week ago, on March 11th, I started working as FiBAN’s Event intern. I’ll be helping organize EBAN Helsinki 2019. Here are my reflections on my first week as FiBAN’s Event intern.
East Asia has been an interesting market for the New Nordic area for a long time. Chinese and Japanese giants have purchased several Nordic companies, including Finnish decacorn Supercell. At EBAN Helsinki 2019, we’ll have a deep look into the possibilities of East Asia with Chris Rynning, advisor for Norway’s oil fund and author of several China-related writings, Marek Kiisa, partner of NordicNinja VC, Helen Wang from BGTA, and Zhu Bin, head of China at Invest in Finland (Business Finland).
