Analyzing the startup before investment
Due diligence is an investigation of a business or person prior to signing a contract, or an act with a certain standard of care. It can be a legal obligation, but the term will more commonly apply to voluntary investigations.
Of the golden rules within angel investing is that 20 hour of due diligence should be used per company, per round to increase the success possibility. Inadequate pre-evaluation and analyze are one of the main reasons for failed startup investments.
